Harakeke (Flax) Mandela : This series of cosmological New Zealand nature mandelas are created purely from photography and the kaleodiscope form draws the viewer in and hypnotises with intricate detail.   Delicate Kowhaiwhai patterns mingle with flax fronds & flying Tui in these spiritual ‘iris-like’ compositions that illustrate nature’s universe in a uniquely NZ way.

Inspiration: Our rugged NZ coastline that has it's own wonderful and purely unique inherent beauty.

Process : Photographic layers of image and pattern combine to produce a richly detailed artwork.
